I was blessed with the gift of a lifetime the beginning of October 2016. I got to go on a two week journey to Chiang Mai, Thailand for a conference with an organization called Remember Nhu. I was able to travel around the world, which I had never before been able to do. I had the opportunity to connect intimately with beautiful people, young and old, in a more than welcoming country. I felt so lucky to be immersed into the culture of a foreign country, and learned so much about Thailand and myself during this journey. I got to see Buddhist Temples and shrines all around, there were Hill Tribes and the people who inhabit them far away from the cities, I met so many people who never had an issue with communication barriers because a smile is all it takes to share a feeling of compassion, and I was able to meet and fall in love with many children whose stories I'd learned and whom of which were saved by the organization Remember Nhu. This experience was ultimately life changing for me, something I never dreamed I would experience, and am forever grateful for having the chance to participate in. Children truly are our future, everywhere around the world, and knowing I got to be a part of something to potentially save children's innocence and help give them a brighter future makes me feel complete.
