Fall 2017: Communication Group
Communication to me is listening first then speaking out and being present if there is something meaningful to say. Otherwise it's better to be silent. Communication is to get across my need to say something, to be understood, to be acknowledged, to be seen and to be heard. Language is complicated and often our intended communication does not come through. Trust is an important part of communication. I have to trust that my meaning will be received as intended, even if I'm constricted by life experiences to clearly communicate. I am being understood and I can understand through compassion and with empathy. If this is missing, the ego only hears what it wants to hear and interprets as it sees fit. Communication must have the foundation of empathy to really work as intended.
