Carpe Diem Education is an Experiential Education organization that takes students (age 17-24) on 3 month and year long gap year trips. Carpe uses a holistic and dynamic approach which provides students with a well traveled experience during which they are constantly engaged. The programs are culturally authentic and while Carpe works with a lot of the same organizations year to year, the projects vary semester to semester based upon the need in the community as defined as by the community. At its core, Carpe Diem is about developing and fostering community, all over seas educators, the headquarters staff, the students, alumni, and community partners are considered a part of the Carpe Diem Family. The whole family is invested in the students inherent value and growth potential, which ensures that students will leave their Gap Year experience with a greater sense of self, a better understanding of how they wish to walk though this world, and more the support and love of a family unlike any other.

"Thanks to Carpe and my experiences on the trip, I recently got hired on as U.S. Projects Manager for Big Life Foundation, a wonderful organization that helps to support and protect the endangered elephant and rhino populations of Tanzania and Kenya. My time with Carpe Diem gave me the experiences I needed in order to be able to immerse in the field of conservation. I am forever so grateful. "-Carpe Student

Meet the Traveler's House
Carpe Diem's Sister organization
The Traveler's house is a hostel that has a philosophy that aligns with Carpe Diem's value of community and awareness and has been kind enough to host the Gratitude Tree that I created in the spirit of Carpe Diem. My hope is the Gratitude Tree will help to effect change by helping people to appreciate the life they are living today.
The impact that this class had on me is immeasurable. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Carpe Diem Education and to create an opportunity for those in my community to reflect on all that they have and celebrate the life they are currently living. My biggest hope is for this project to have a positive impact on those who walk by. IF you haven't already, please go visit my tree and give her some love. <3
