ASIAN hEALTH aND sERVICE CENTER
Asian Health and Service Center (AHSC) is a non-profit, 501(c) (3) organization that has served the Portland metro region since 1983.
There are many ways for me as an international student to serve the community, and I decided to serve the community by volunteer in the Asian Health and Service Center. It is an honor to be able to use my ability to serve my own community. In this past two months I build good relationship with senior citizen who come to center daily, and they taught me many wonderful lesson. Their stories help me as a future social worker to have better understanding about the situation that minority facing in the society. Volunteer is a good way to help us to understand ourselves and the society that we belong to. We should do our best to serve our own society, because we are part of it.
