My Introduction
Thank you for taking a moment to explore my Mobilizing Hope Capstone project at Portland State University for the 2024 winter term. I'm Anita Tang (she/her), a proud Portland native, deeply committed to uplifting my community. Having volunteered with the Southeast Asian Youth Leadership & Unity Retreat (SEAYLUR) organization since its inception, I felt a compelling desire to contribute further. Hence, I've dedicated my efforts to create an impactful Impact Report for the organization. Additionally, my involvement extends to the Cambodian American Community of Oregon (CACO), where I initiated a Youth Committee to also foster leadership development among middle and high school students in our Cambodian community. Both of these non-profit organizations share a common goal of nurturing our youth, a cause that resonates strongly with my personal convictions. This page serves as a detailed exploration of the two projects I've worked on this term.

Project Reflection
Both of my projects align with the University Studies goal of Communication, emphasizing the "enhancement of students' ability to effectively communicate through various mediums such as writing, graphics, numeracy, and both visual and oral means". This aligns with the need of collaborating efficiently in group work and being proficient in relevant communications amongst various forms.
The Impact Report includes diverse forms of communication, presenting information in a concise and easily comprehensible manner. This mirrors the approach I had in creating the project proposal for the Youth Committee at CACO. Both projects require efficient and effective communication styles, that needed multiple forms to convey the proper messages.
Engaging in these projects has helped me with a range of transferable skills that I can further refine. Despite facing initial challenges, particularly in my inherent struggle with communication, these projects have become invaluable learning experiences. Managing two projects that heavily rely on communication has been a noteworthy challenge, yet the growth and development I've experienced in this domain are significant and will undoubtedly contribute to my ongoing personal and professional development as well as supporting my community here in Oregon.
