I have recently started working with my personal job as a bartender and manager to separate out recyclable bottles and cans to use for donations to my American Legion Chapter.

As a child I worked with the BSA to help with AL events to honor our nations veterans to include: Flag ceremonies, SOL Dinners, Funeral Processions, Veterans and Memorial Day Contributions.
-
Helping to develop Relationships with New Members and Community Partners
Currently we have no active relationships with other local organizations however we are working to develop relationships with other Veterans Assistance Programs.

Membership and volunteer work
As a member of The American Legion since 2018 I have had the opportunity to work side by side with Veteran Community Leaders to develop relationships and work with them to promote new memberships and strengthen current ones. As a 3rd generation Veteran in the United States Armed Forces as well as a 3rd Generation Member of American Legion Aloha Post 104 I've had the opportunity to create long lasting relationships and help the Post with many of the functions and events. Above are some of the volunteer work I have done in the past and am currently doing now.
History of American Legion
Continue the Legacy
Although not everyone can be a member of The American Legion or its auxiliary, Sons of The American Legion, any of us can make a difference and keep the legacy of The American Legion Alive. As a member for 4 years now I have seen numbers in memberships dwindle and young veterans lack of knowledge of membership possibilities and assistance that The American Legion can provide. As an American Citizen, here are a few things that you can do to help!
Educate people you know on the Benefits of The American Legion
-
If you know Veterans, reach out and tell them about the Legion and what it does
-
If you have family that are Veterans, look into donating time as a Volunteer with the Sons of AL
-
Donate what you can: if it is not financially, look into donating your time and working with our nations Heroes
