remember your voice
Voting is a democratic right that a lot of us take for granted. In 2016, under 50% of people between 18 and 29 voted. The goal for this project was to remind people to take part in an important part of our country. A lot of times, a lot of campaigns and ads shoved it in your face to vote, but often weren't as informative or worked more to push people away rather than inspire to bring people to the ballot box. Instead of going in this route, my friend and I decided on making some straight to the point art work with the necessary information or resources to help people take that first step into voting. When the images were done, we shared it with close friends, coworkers, and family to share and get the word out and hope that the images were engaging enough to be reshared.

Stories
The stories images were images made in 1920x1080 dimensions that could be shared in stories, like Snapchat stories, Instagram stories, Facebook, etc. But could also be shared in general. They were made with the intention of grabbing one's attention when browsing through their friends stories. They were filled with similar information to the informative images, but with an extra effort on hooking the viewer.

reflection
I’m not a political person, I’m actually far from it, but when it comes to voting and participating in the decision making progress of who we want to represent us, what new rules should be put in place, and what should be removed. I believe that everyone should get a say when making this decision. Everyone faces different issues and environments, and they should get to voice that by participating in the voting process. That was the goal with this project, but as I mentioned before, I wanted these images to be less telling you what to do, and more inspiring you to use your voice while also guiding them on how they can do it.
After the election, hearing that there were recording-breaking turnouts was heartwarming. I may not have inspired that at all or had a significant impact, but was great to at least add to it in any way that I could. The country made their voice heard in large masses, and although there is still a lot of work to do, this is a great step forward in potentially bettering our communities.
