Within five years Oregon will be known as the “recovery state.”
Oregon Recovers is an inclusive statewide coalition comprised of people in recovery–and their friends and family—uniting to transform Oregon healthcare to ensure world-class prevention, treatment, and recovery support services for Oregonians suffering from the disease of addiction.
What Are WE doing to make this Happen?
Perhaps Oregon Recovers largest efforts is its work in the Oregon legislature. Oregon Recovers helped to establish the Alcohol and Drug Policy Commission which was directed by the states governor to develop a plan for helping those people in Oregon who struggle with Substance Use Disorders. Especially now in the time of Covid, Oregon Recovers work is more important than ever. With everyone being forced to stay at home, people are losing they're communities. Oregon Recovers is working to establish government interventions which provide more help for those people on government levels.
The Oregon Recovery Network is partnering with Recover Together With Google to provide Oregonians one centralized location with the latest state and local recovery resources and COVID-19 information so that our community can come out of this crisis stronger than ever.
Oregon Recovers recovery talks are a weekly live stream which aims to bring together professionals and knowledgeable people in the recovery community together and get them talking with the people who have a vested interest in recovery whether they are in recovery themselves, or have friends or family in recovery. The aim is to discuss the topics they are expects in and allow anyone to ask them questions directly. Finally, it has worked in bringing these people together to help build community in a time where community is not easy to find.
