Black Food Sovereignty Coalition: Grandma's hands program |
Quinn has been fortunate enough to assist with plant transplanting, building ideas around advancing GHBFSC presence via social media, informing community members about virtual events and resources, while practicing and implementing grant writing skills. Quinn will continue to work with the coalition until Summer 2021.
They will continue to create ideas from scratch to present to the coalition while also assisting with projects and tasks that Quinn has skills in and/or is interested in growing skills in. The main focal points will always include communing, protecting, and supporting BIPOC communities with an emphasis on African-American communities. |
Black Food Sovereignty Coalition was founded in 2018 in response to the growth of food insecurity, food miseducation, and many other disparities affecting the African-American community. BFSC consists of Black, Indigenous, and other people of color that collectively come together and whose mission is to engage with the African-American, African Immigrant, and other BIPOC communities through food education, food security, equitable collaboration, and so much more.
