About Me
Welcome!
My name is Kenia Chavez (She/Her/Hers), and I am a fourth-year student majoring in Community Health Promotion and Health Services Administration. Both of my degrees are focused on the field of Public Health. As I am about to finish school, I hope to involve myself in work focused on healthcare equity and health management and further help disadvantaged communities.
Throughout the length of this course, I have learned different experiences from people around the world and how they are motivated to create change in their communities, no matter how big or small. In the end, that willingness can help and inspire others and address the social inequities present in their communities and achieve equity. I have also engaged in meaningful discussions with my peers who come from different backgrounds and have different experiences. In the end, I have learned that we all have a purpose, and we can use that to participate in change that can benefit us and others.
For my effective change capstone, I was able to showcase my work at the Academic Autism Spectrum Partnership in Research and Education (AASPIRE) as a research assistant.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]

MOving forward
As I am completing my Bachelor's degree studies, I would like to gain more experience in public health, especially healthcare management and health equity. Gaining more experience will allow me to decide what I want to pursue when going into graduate school. In the end, my experience has shown me that I want to work with disadvantaged communities and advocate. In the future, I hope to work somewhere that is focused on health equity and continues to address issues that have remained ignored for so long.
