About Me and this WebpageHi friends, my name is Nat Wuebkes (they/she/he) I'm currently a psychology student at PSU and I work at Albertina Kerr Subacute as a psychiatric technician.
This website is a compilation for all the work that I have done for my Fall 2021 Capstone. For this capstone, I continued working at Subacute as a psych tech. Through my work, I assisted teens and children with various aspects of mental health support. Below I have listed not only Kerr's history as well as my as a technician. |

Kerr, A History
Albertina Kerr was founded in 1907 when Portland Commons Mission buys the Louise Home in Southwest Portland
In 1910, Alexander Kerr marries Albertina Sechtem. Hence the name Albertina Kerr In 1911, Albertina died of typhus. Alexander donates their family home in Northwest Portland to be the Albertina Kerr Nursery, providing adoption services and daycare for children of single mothers. 1915, The Louise home expands its campus. 1960, Kerr creates residential and outpatient psychiatric treatment services for children and their families. 1997, Albertina Kerr constructs a new building on the Louise Home campus and begins operating a Crisis Psychiatric Care program for children (Subacute) A REFLECTIONWhile I continue my work at Subacute, I move forward with feelings of resilience and appreciation. I struggled with my own mental health as a teen. It is important for us to not diminish mental health and allow others to feel heard when they are struggling.
